Recap - Worship Night 5 - November 18th, 2023

GIVE THANKS! Pre-Thanksgiving Worship Together

NOTE: This is the extended version before I trimmed down the message to fit our time slot - AMAZING what the Word provides to us, so I wanted to ensure you had all my notes for the evening... ENJOY!

Pre-Thanksgiving Worship night included some of the following verses of THANKS spoken aloud by all prior to sharing together in a wonderful meal as family in Christ (not listed in any specific order).

These are beautiful verses that are great to pray or meditate on from God's word - giving HIM the THANKS and PRAISE He so greatly deserves:

Isaiah 12:4-5

4 And you will say in that day:

“Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.

5 “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known[d] in all the earth.

1 Samuel 12:24

24 Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.

Hebrews 12:28-29

28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,

29 for our God is a consuming fire.

Hebrews 13:15-16

15 Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.

16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Psalm 35:18

18 I will thank you in the great congregation;

in the mighty throng I will praise you.

Psalm 100:4-5

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!

5 For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 97:12

12 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,

and give thanks to his holy name!

Psalm 86:12

12 I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart,

and I will glorify your name forever.

Psalm 28:7

7 The Lord is my strength and my shield;

in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;

my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.

Psalm 107:8-9

8 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,

for his wondrous works to the children of man!

9 For he satisfies the longing soul,

and the hungry soul he fills with good things.

Psalm 32:11

11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous,

and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

Psalm 106:1-3

1 Praise the Lord!

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,

for his steadfast love endures forever!

2 Who can utter the mighty deeds of the Lord,

or declare all his praise?

3 Blessed are they who observe justice,

who do righteousness at all times!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

16 Rejoice always,

17 pray without ceasing,

18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Colossians 3:17

Revelation 11:17

17 saying,

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was, for you have taken your great power and begun to reign.

Prior to song worship, a reading from -

2 Chronicles 5:11-14:

And when the priests came out of the Holy Place (for the priests who were present had consecrated themselves, without regard to their divisions, and all the Levitical singers - Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, their sons and kinsmen, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps, and lyres, too east of the altar with 120 priests where were trumpeters; and it was the duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard in unison in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord), and when the song was raised, with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord, "For He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever," the house, the house of the Lord, WAS FILLED WITH A CLOUD, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, FOR THE GLORY OF THE LORD FILLED THE HOUSE OF GOD.

How awesome to prepare for true worship in thanksgiving to the Lord and to have the place so filled with HIS GLORY that there is no room for anything else or to even conduct any other activity!!!

The following verses were read aloud, all containing some form of song or singing of praises to our Father. Again, these are great verses to pray or meditate on from God's word - giving HIM the THANKS and PRAISE He so greatly deserves:

Colossians 3:16

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Ephesians 5:19-20

19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,

20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

1 Chronicles 16:23

23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth!

Tell of his salvation from day to day.

Psalm 7:17

17 I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness,

and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord, the Most High.

Psalm 95:1-3

1 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;

let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;

let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

Psalm 92:1-2

1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord,

to sing praises to your name, O Most High;

2 to declare your steadfast love in the morning,

and your faithfulness by night,

Psalm 69:30

30 I will praise the name of God with a song;

I will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Psalm 9:1-2

1 I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;

I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.

2 I will be glad and exult in you;

I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

Psalm 108:1

1 My heart is steadfast, O God!

I will sing and make melody with all my being!

Psalm 13:6

6 I will sing to the Lord,

because he has dealt bountifully with me.

Psalm 18:49

49 For this I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations,

and sing to your name.

Psalm 30:12

12 that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.

O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

Psalm 104:33

33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;

I will sing praise to my God while I have being.

Psalm 59:16

16 But I will sing of your strength;

I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.

For you have been to me a fortress

and a refuge in the day of my distress.

Psalm 89:1

1 I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever;

with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.

Ezra 3:11

11 And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord,

“For He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever toward Israel.”

And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

And how beautiful that GOD sings over us! -

The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One who will save;

He will rejoice over you with gladness;

He will quiet you by His love;

He will exult over you with loud singing.

- Zephaniah 3:17
